The Pomares                    February  2014

Dear friends,
We starting the new year very excited about what God is going to do in our lives and in the lives of the students in Mexico.
On January 6th in Mexico we celebrated the 3 king´s holiday, this is when most of the children in Mexico receive their gifts. With this in mind Ricardo, a student involved in Cru, organized an event in his hometown about an hour and a half from Puebla.
Few months ago the students went to the local authorities to request permission for the event at the town square, where they planned several activities including: piñatas, games with the kids, and presentation of the Jesus film for kids.  The day of the event several students from Cru arrived to the town early to help set-up and right before the event we went door to door inviting the kids and their family to the event.
Thanks to God it was a success! Around 150 kids and 50 adults joined us for the event.  The kids enjoyed the piñatas, games, the toys that were given as gifts, and that several students dressed up as clowns..Most of the people stayed for the projection of the Jesus film for kids. After the movie we shared the gospel with the people and invited them to the local church where Ricardo and his family attend.
It was a great day, in particular I was very proud of the initiative that the students showed for sharing their faith with other people and how their are growing in their relationship with Christ. Fourteen students helped plan and participate to make the event possible.
Feburary 19 to the 24th (this week) I will be traveling to Panama City for a planning time concerning our conference for Latina America and the Caribbean that will be having in 2015. Along with other missionaries from our area of Latin America, we will be working in the design for the conference where we are praying for at least 3000 students to come in 2015 from around 42 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On the home front Ian is already 7 months and praise God that his digestive system is finally working as it should.  Leah is a spirited little 2 years old, and loves her little brother.  We feel very blessed for having them in our lives. Thank you for praying for the health of our children.
Thank you so much for your prayer and financial support, we believe that together reaching colleges students today we are reaching the future generation of professionals, leaders and parents. Thank you for teaming with us to help fulfill the great commission in Mexico and the world.
Prayer request:

That God would continue to use the students in Puebla to reach their friends with the gospel.

For my trip to Panama City, that it would be a productive time for the organization of the conference for Latin America and the Caribbean, and also that God protects Liz, Leah and Ian while I am traveling.

That God would provide for the different events that we have this year.

Luis, Liz,Leah, and Ian Pomares
