The Pomares      December  2015 Dear friends, Two weeks ago, we had our regional retreat where students from different universities spent some quality time praying, learning, and growing together in our relationship with Christ.  Every year we offer this fall retreat during the students’ first semester so we can all get to know each other better and encourage the students as they continue working to reach their universities with the message of the Gospel.  In all, 80 students attended this retreat.  We had students come from various places such as Xalapa, Oaxaca, Mexico City, and Puebla. We had a very encouraging time at the retreat, and we pray that the students can apply all that God taught them during this time. In news about our family, my wife Elizabeth was diagnosed with Celiac disease, which is an autoimmune illness related to gluten, which turned out to be the source of all her stomach and thyroid problems.  It took several tests and doctor visits to finally get this diagnosis, and we are thankful to God that we know what she has and how we can move forward with the necessary treatment.  Now her thyroid levels are back to normal, and she needs all the gluten that is still in her body to be eliminated, as well as eliminating all gluten from her diet.  Thank you so much for praying for Liz’s health over the past few weeks. We are very grateful to God for being able to count on you in order to continue bringing the Gospel message to university students and also for being part of what God is doing in our lives. Prayer requests:   For Elizabeth’s health, that she will soon be completely recovered from her sickness and for God to provide for all the costs related to all the testing and doctor’s visits.   For the students to continue growing in their relationship with Christ and that they continue sharing their faith with bravery at their university. That God will continue using us for His great work in the lives of the university students of Mexico.
